This is the agenda and approximate timeline for our meeting.

7:00am Open networking amongst members & visitors

7:15am Meeting officially begins Welcoming of visitors, Introduction of Leadership Team, Membership committee, Visitor Host, Education Coordinator, and Event Coordinator

7:16am Purpose and overview of BNI

7:17am Educational Moment

7:20am Passing of business card box

7:23am Welcoming new and/or renewing members to the organization.

7:25am Members introduce themselves and give a 60-second presentation. Welcome visitors to BNI. Have members introduce them.

Secretary Announces: Speakers for the next 6 weeks and speaker for the meeting. Speaker will give a 10 minute presentation

8:15am Referrals & Testimonials: This is the most important part of our meeting. Members will hand out quality sales leads to fellow members.

8:20am Referral reality check: Our vice President picks two referral slips from two weeks prior and asks the members who received them to please stand and share with the chapter the outcome of the referrals.

8:25am Treasurer's report.

8:28am BNI Announcements, Reminders, & Special Reports.

8:29am Door Prize drawing(s) for members bring visitors or referrals.

Here is a closer look at some of the portions of the meeting.

Open Networking—Please meet with a visitor host when you arrive. They will introduce you to some members of our group.

60-second Commercials—If you are a substitute, you will give the member’s commercial first and, if you so desire, will be allotted an additional 60 seconds to do your own commercial, provided that your category does not conflict with a member’s category.

A good commercial consists of four parts:

  1. Introduction: Salutation, Name, and Company Name
  2. Body: What is your perfect referral? Be as specific as possible.
  3. Closing: State one more time your name and company name.
  4. Memory Hook: This is one sentence that vividly describes what you do. Make it memorable, descriptive, and short. Ex."I'm a dentist. I believe in the tooth, the whole tooth, and nothing but the tooth, so help me God."

Please pay close attention to the timer when doing your commercial. If the timer goes off, please do the Closing portion and your Memory Hook and be seated.

Referrals—You will be asked to tell the group what you like best about the meeting. You may pass referrals to our members, but receiving a referral is a privilege of membership.
